Continuous dryer for viscous, heat-sensitive and fouling materials. A rotating blade assembly spreads the feed into a thin, turbulent film on the heated wall, enabling rapid evaporation under vacuum, ideal for ZLD, effluent salts and high-value products.
The Gausin Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) is a vertical, jacketed cylinder fitted with a rotor carrying hinged or fixed blades. The rotor spreads incoming feed into a thin, highly turbulent film over the heated wall, achieving fast evaporation even for difficult products.
Because the film is constantly wiped and renewed, the ATFD handles viscous, fouling, foaming and heat-sensitive feeds that would scale or burn in conventional dryers. Operation under vacuum lowers the boiling point and protects product quality.
ATFDs are a key element of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plants, converting evaporator concentrate into a dry, handleable powder or flakes. Gausin supplies them in SS 304 / 316L with optional crystallizing and condensing systems.
